I Miss You

I grasp your hand and hold on tight.

As a child, you led me.

Now, I lead you.

Don’t let go of me, please.

Tell me again how it will be okay.

I Miss you.

My hand still fits inside yours.

You hold on to it as always,

never changing, but ever changing.

You are here with me,

but I miss you.

My heart longs for you.

I look around and see love,

and yet I’m lonely.

I look for you.

Trying to honor you.

Nothing replaces you.

When the tears consume me,

I long for the times you understood me.

I miss you.

I see you. Though, I am lonely.

Where did you go?

I will look for you.

I miss you.
